# After-Hours Emergency Alert Rules

## Purpose

This rule set exists for one specific moment: the first minutes after US regular-market close, when holdings can move sharply on filings, earnings, guidance, offerings, analyst changes, or thin-liquidity after-hours prints.

It is not a panic button. It is a fast triage system.

## Current Holdings Watchlist

Primary holdings to check first:

- `RDW`
- `NASA` - exact ticker/name still needs confirmation.
- `MU`
- `MRVL`
- `GNTA`
- `AAOI`
- `AMD`

Related market context:

- Semiconductors: `SMH`, `SOXX`, `NVDA`, `AVGO`, `TSM`, `ASML`, `AMD`, `MU`.
- Broad risk: `QQQ`, `SPY`, `IWM`, VIX, US yields, dollar.
- Leverage candidate: `SOXL`.

## Alert Levels

- `GREEN`: no material after-hours risk; do nothing.
- `YELLOW`: movement or news exists, but thesis damage is not confirmed.
- `ORANGE`: partial trim or order preparation may be needed before the full post-market report.
- `RED`: thesis damage, dilution, severe guidance issue, or disorderly after-hours collapse. Immediate defensive decision is required.

## Trigger Thresholds

Check urgently when:

- Any holding moves -3% or worse after hours.
- Any holding moves +5% or more after hours and the move may be news-driven.
- High-beta names such as `RDW`, `GNTA`, or `AAOI` move -2.5% or worse.
- SEC filings include offering, shelf, ATM, convertible, warrant, dilution, insider sale, delayed filing, going-concern language, or material weakness.
- Earnings or guidance changes directly damage the thesis.
- A related bellwether such as `AVGO`, `NVDA`, `TSM`, `ASML`, `SMH`, or `SOXX` creates second-order risk for semiconductor holdings.

## First Question

Every after-hours alert should answer this first:

`Is this thesis damage or only price damage?`

Classifications:

- `THESIS DAMAGE`: company-specific facts changed negatively.
- `SECTOR DAMAGE`: the stock is reacting to a broader chain shock.
- `PRICE DAMAGE`: price is down, but the thesis is still intact.
- `LIQUIDITY NOISE`: thin after-hours trading without confirmed news.
- `UNKNOWN`: price moved before reliable information is available.

## Action Labels

- `DO NOTHING`: no confirmed issue.
- `HOLD THROUGH`: thesis intact; no after-hours action needed.
- `WATCH CLOSELY`: wait for more reliable prints/news.
- `TRIM WATCH`: prepare partial reduction if the next confirmation is bad.
- `EXIT WATCH`: confirmed damage; after-hours or next premarket exit may be considered.
- `NO AVERAGING`: do not add until news and liquidity normalize.

## Emergency Sell Consideration

Consider urgent trim or exit only when at least one is true:

- Official filing or company release confirms dilution or thesis damage.
- Guidance or earnings invalidates the reason for holding.
- After-hours loss is large and volume confirms real selling, not a thin print.
- The holding was tactical, not core, and the invalidation condition was hit.
- Sector bellwether damage creates credible next-day gap risk in the holding.

## Forbidden Actions

- Do not average down before reading the filing/news.
- Do not sell only because one thin after-hours print looks ugly.
- Do not exit and immediately rotate into another high-beta stock from stress.
- Do not use the weekly/monthly quest as a reason to force recovery trades.
- Do not use market orders in thin after-hours conditions unless the broker and situation justify it.

## Kakao Summary Format

The alert should keep Kakao short:

`장외 긴급: [GREEN/YELLOW/ORANGE/RED]. 타격 종목: [...]. 원인: [...]. 행동: [...]. 물타기: 금지/대기. 현금/SOXL: [...].`

## Schedule Note

US after-hours begins at 4:00 PM Eastern Time. In Korea, that is usually 05:00 during US daylight saving time and 06:00 during US standard time. The active emergency automation is currently scheduled for the daylight-saving window.

## Two-Step Weekday Handling

- 1차 긴급 확인: 05:08 KST during US daylight saving time.
- 2차 확인: 05:35 KST, after the first thin prints and early filings/news have had time to stabilize.

The second check should answer:

- Did the alert improve, worsen, or stay the same versus the first check?
- Is the move still only after-hours liquidity noise?
- Is there confirmed filing/news damage?
- Can the user wait for the regular session, or is defensive preparation needed now?

The goal is to avoid both errors: ignoring a real after-hours thesis break and panic-selling a thin early print.
